Social Value of Offered Survivor-Support Consent Workshops

1. Context: Community-Led, Demand-Responsive Offer

We have developed and offered free, trauma-informed consent workshops to the local community and small business in response to identified need VAWG

These workshops are available in:

  • Mixed-gender spaces, adapted for men and women
  • Women-only spaces, supporting survivor safety, accessibility, and choice

We are currently awaiting confirmation and scheduling from interested community groups, demonstrating a flexible, demand-led approach that centres community readiness and consent in engagement as well as content.

2. Anticipated Social Value Outcomes

A. Survivor-Centred Empowerment

Once delivered, the workshops are designed to:

  • Increase understanding of consent, boundaries, and autonomy
  • Support survivors to rebuild confidence and reduce shame
  • Provide women-only environments for those who require safety and psychological comfort to engage

Social value created:
✔ Increased emotional wellbeing and agency among survivors
✔ Trauma-informed access to education
✔ Reduced barriers to participation

B. Prevention & Community Safety

By offering these workshops proactively, the programme supports:

  • Early intervention and prevention of sexual harm
  • Increased awareness of respectful behaviour and accountability
  • Engagement of men as allies in consent education and harm prevention

Social value created:
✔ Safer community cultures
✔ Reduction in future harm
✔ Shared responsibility for prevention

C. Equity, Access & Inclusion

  • Workshops are offered free of charge, removing financial barriers
  • Delivery formats are adaptable to community needs and cultural contexts
  • Women-only options ensure inclusive access for survivors and marginalised groups

Social value created:
✔ Equitable access to vital education
✔ Inclusion of voices often excluded from mixed-gender spaces
✔ Alignment with equality and safeguarding principles

3. Social Value in the Engagement Phase (Pre-Delivery)

Even at the current stage—prior to delivery—the project is generating social value by:

  • Responding directly to community-identified need
  • Building trust through non-pressured, consent-led engagement
  • Demonstrating readiness and capacity to deliver at short notice
  • Normalising conversations around consent and survivor support

Social value created now:
✔ Strengthened community relationships
✔ Increased awareness of consent and available support
✔ Reduced stigma around accessing survivor-informed education

4. Measuring Social Value (Upon Delivery)

Once workshops are confirmed and delivered, impact will be measured through:

  • Number of workshops scheduled and delivered
  • Attendance figures across mixed and women-only sessions
  • Pre/post confidence and knowledge measures
  • Anonymised participant feedback and testimonials

5. Short Social Value Statement (for Reports or Updates)

We have developed and offered free, trauma-informed consent workshops in response to expressed community interest. While awaiting confirmation from community partners, the project is already creating social value through trust-building, inclusive engagement, and readiness to deliver survivor-centred education that supports prevention, wellbeing, and safer communities.
