Trauma-Informed Counselling, Workplace Wellbeing and Professional Support
I created Survivors Support following more than 15 years of working across charitable and public-sector services, supporting children, young people, adults and families.
Throughout that time, one message came through repeatedly:
“The support was helpful, but I needed more.”
Charitable, community and public services provide valuable and essential support, often while working within limited funding, increasing demand, long waiting lists and restrictions on the number or type of sessions they can offer.
Many services are doing everything they can with the resources available. However, the need for accessible, specialist and longer-term trauma support continues to grow.
I wanted to explore a different and more sustainable approach to providing trauma-informed counselling—one that could work alongside existing services while creating greater choice and opportunities for people who may need additional or longer-term support.
Survivors Support was developed with a commitment to providing compassionate, professional and trauma-informed support while exploring ways to make specialist counselling more accessible to people affected by trauma.
Our vision is to develop a sustainable mixed model in which private counselling, workplace counselling, professional training and services for businesses and organisations help contribute towards the development of affordable, lower-cost and funded counselling opportunities for people experiencing financial barriers.
Full-fee counselling remains an important part of our service, enabling clients to access experienced, specialist and trauma-informed support.
Alongside this, income generated through private counselling, workplace services, professional training and work with businesses and organisations may help us widen access by contributing towards reduced-cost and funded counselling opportunities as these become available.
Our longer-term vision is to create a sustainable and inclusive model where individuals, workplaces and organisations can access high-quality trauma-informed support while helping us increase access for people experiencing financial barriers.
Survivors Support is committed to providing services that are ethical, professional, inclusive and grounded in safety, choice, dignity and respect. We recognise that every person’s experience is different, and support is offered at a pace that considers individual needs, circumstances and readiness.
By choosing counselling, workplace support, training or professional services through Survivors Support, individuals and organisations are investing in their own wellbeing and development while also helping us work towards making specialist counselling more accessible within the wider community.
Our mission is to provide compassionate, confidential and trauma-informed support for adults and young people aged 16 and over who are affected by trauma, abuse and other overwhelming life experiences.
We are committed to delivering safe, inclusive and accessible services that recognise each person’s unique experiences and support recovery, resilience and long-term wellbeing.
Alongside our counselling services, we aim to strengthen trauma-informed practice through education, partnerships and professional development, helping to build healthier communities and a skilled, ethical and sustainable workforce.
Survivors Support works alongside Bee-lieve Survivors CIC and L&M Counselling Training to provide connected, trauma-informed services for individuals, communities, professionals and organisations.
