Types of Counselling for Survivors of Sexual Abuse

Therapeutic Approach

Transactional Analysis (TA)

Person-Centred Therapy

A woman listens attentively during a counseling session.

We draw from several evidence-based and compassionate modalities, tailored to your needs and comfort.

We know how important it is to feel safe. That’s why you set the pace — always. You’ll never be pushed to share more than you’re ready for. We’ll check in regularly to ensure we are woking to your goals. and bringing about the changes that you want to make.

Opportunity for Recovery

You don’t have to have it all figured out. You don’t need to be “ready” in any perfect way. Taking the first step can feel daunting and overwhelming.

The first step is a confidential consultation so you can get a sense of whether this feels right for you. There will be no pressure, just a chance to make the decision that is right for you.

Person-Centred Therapy

Person-Centred Therapy

At the heart of our work is a deep belief in your inner capacity to heal. In a person-centred space, you lead the way. We offer empathy, unconditional positive regard, and a non-judgmental presence, allowing your voice and truth to guide the process.

Psychodynamic Therapy

We can  gently explore how early experiences, unconscious patterns, and relational wounds may still be impacting your present life. This approach can help you make meaningful connections between past and present, giving you insight, clarity, and the freedom to move forward differently.

TA helps us understand the different "parts" or states within us — like our inner child, nurturing parent, or critical voice. It can shine a light on old patterns in your thinking, feeling, or relating, and gently support you in changing dynamics that no longer serve you. TA is especially useful for unpacking messages we’ve internalized from early life — including those shaped by abuse or neglect — and reclaiming your right to feel safe, worthy, and in control.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Creative and Expressive Therapy

We use CBT tools thoughtfully, helping you identify and reframe beliefs rooted in trauma, develop coping strategies, and strengthen your inner sense of safety and control.

Somatic (Body-Based) Therapy

Trauma often lives in the body. Somatic approaches help you tune into your physical sensations, regulate your nervous system, and feel more grounded and present.

Sometimes words aren't enough — or too much. These approaches support you in telling your story in ways that feel meaningful, creative, and empowering, without pressure to relive painful memories.
