Specialist Counselling for Sexual Abuse

A woman attentively listens to another woman during a counseling session.

Trauma-Informed Counselling for Survivors of  Sexual Abuse

You are not alone recovey is possible — and it begins with feeling safe.

If you’ve experienced sexual abuse, you may carry deep pain, confusion, or shame — sometimes silently, sometimes all-consuming. It might feel hard to trust, to talk about what happened, or to even believe recovery is possible.

What happened to you was NOT  your fault.

You are NOT  broken — and you don’t have to face this alone.

Experiencing trauma can leave a life changing impact, it's important to seek help from trained professionals.

We understand how trauma — especially sexual abuse — can affect every part of your life: your body, your emotions, your relationships, identity and how you funtion in the world.

We take all of that into account and shape our approach to support the work that you want to do.

This includes:

  • Safety — aiming to build a trusting respecful relationship with your counsellor where you feel physically and emotionally safe, to enable you to feel safe enought to talk about the difficulties you want to work through to achieve your aims and goals.. This takes courage, time and we will go at your pace.

  • Choice — you are always in control of what we talk about and how we move forward. You will NOT be forced to talk about your abuse unless you want to or are ready.

  • Trust — the foundation of everything we do,

  • Compassion — we hold space for your pain, without judgment

How Counselling Can Help

Our therapists are trauma informed qualifed counsellors who are trained to help you work through the trauma and develop  coping strategies if you require them. We offer a variety of trauma-focused therapies to meet your unique needs.

You might be navigating:

  • Flashbacks or unwanted memories
  • Anxiety, panic, or difficulty sleeping
  • Deep shame, guilt, or self-blame
  • Disconnection from your body or emotions
  • Challenges with trust, intimacy, or boundaries
  • Feeling “stuck” or unsure how to move forward
  • Self harming - feeling suicidal isolated and alone

Whatever you’re feeling — it’s a valid response to trauma. We’ll support you in making sense of your experiences.

The first step

The first step is a confidential and respectful consultation so you can get a sense of whether this feels right for you. There will be no pressure, just a chance to make the decision that is right for you. This is an assessment appointment. Delivered via a secure online platform which is private and confidential.

You will be given the opportunity to talk about your current situation and what you would like to gain from counselling together we will explore how counselling may support you and helps us to ensure our service can meet your needs.

This appointment is charged at the usual fee. If we decide to proceed the work will continue with regular appointments that are weekly where you will be free to talk about anything that is on your mind we will work at your  pace and you will NOT be pressured to talk about the abuse before you are ready to do so.  Our focus will be on creating a supportive and collaborative space that works for you.

We offer short and long term contracts and sessions lasting no more than 50 minutes.

 When you’re ready, we’re here.
